Aadhaar was introduced with an objective to give universal identity to every resident Indian. The increasing acceptance of Aadhaar card makes it a must for everyone to get it issued. After making the linking to Aadhaar number mandatory for mobile numbers and tax filings, the government asked bank accounts owners opened to link them to their Aadhaar number.

You can link your Aadhaar card number to the bank account by many ways. Linking through mobile SMS is very easy and straightforward.


Aadhaar Linking through SMS If your mobile number is registered with your SBI account, then you can send SMS to 567676. The message should be sent in the following format UID(space)Aadhaar number(space)Account number.



If the mobile number is not registered or in case the Aadhaar is already linked to Account, you will get an SMS reply to your mobile number. If your mobile number is registered with the Bank, you will receive an SMS confirmation of the sending request.

The Aadhaar number will be verified by Bank with UIDAI. In case it fails verification, SMS will be sent to Customer to contact any SBI branch along with Aadhaar number or e-aadhaar.
